Brain Development Program

UCMAS

Brain Development Program through mental arithmetic for Primary School Children.

Mental arithmetics are defined as solving mathematical problems, regardless of complexity, using only the brain. UCMAS is the largest program in mental arithmetics in the world. It is used in more than 6000 centres across 80 countries. A child following a brain development program with mental arithmetics will also gain other mental abilities such as:

  • Strong memory
  • Observation skills
  • Imagination and Visualization skills
  • Concentration

The program itself, along with our energetic instructors, ensures a fun filled experience while your child learns to solve complex arithmetical problems and develops their brain abilities.

UCMAS LEVELS

UCMAS 0: Pre-Foundation (Pre-Primary)
UCMAS 1: Foundation (A ‘and B’ Primary)
UCMAS 2: Basic, Elementary A (all other elementary school grades start at UCMAS 2)

    • 18:15 – 19:45 > UCMAS 5: Higher B

Friday:

    • 18:15 – 19:15 > UCMAS 0: Pre-Foundation

Saturday:

    • 9:00 – 10:00 > UCMAS 1: Foundation (A ‘and B’ Primary)
    • 10:00 – 11:30 UCMAS 3: Elementary B

Note: The UCMAS Program starts in September 2024 and finishes in June 2025

UCMAS is gaining worldwide recognition with globally accepted results. A study by the University of Manchester (UK), on a sample of 3185 children aged 7 to 11, after an intensive UCMAS program for 34 weeks, 1.5 hours per week, showed an increase in children’s intelligence (IQ). Research from the University of California San Diego – UCSD (USA) & Massachusetts Institute of Technology – MIT (USA), where 400 children after training in the UCMAS program, had an advantage in mathematical calculations, were more accurate and faster than children who did not participate in the specific program.
We clarify that UCMAS is a program for the development of your child’s brain. UCMAS does not replace or conflict with school mathematics. UCMAS achieves specific benefits. If your child is already good at math, he or she can still benefit from UCMAS, as the benefits will be even more apparent as your child’s brain further develops.

Benefits

  • Memory strengthening: This is achieved by the effort that the child makes in imagining and remembering the movements of the beads that are made in a specific order in the child’s memory and has as a final result the development of the photographic memory.
  • Auditory empowerment: This is achieved by the child trying to respond quickly to verbal instructions for solving arithmetic calculations.
  • Increase concentration: This is achieved by the child making the effort to mentally use the abacus and the changes made at each stage of a numerical calculation, ignoring interference from the environment that distracts the child.
  • Increase the ability to do more than one thing at a time: This is achieved by the child’s effort to simultaneously listen, imagine, think and respond to complex and parallel arithmetic calculations.
  • Improving mathematical perception and ability: This is achieved with the mental / imaginative abacus technique that the child creates in his mind, where he can give results incredibly quickly and accurately. Your child will perform arithmetic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and square root. All this will be done in multi-digit numbers, without the use of a computer.
  • Increase self-confidence: By improving his perception and ability to perform arithmetic calculations, your child will not be afraid of numbers and math in general.
  • Improving academic performance in all school subjects: By having your child have high self-confidence in difficult subjects, such as mathematics, he / she feels strong, superior and this is transferred to all the other subjects he / she attends.

For parents who are interested in securing their children a place in a private school, did you know that in mathematics writing students are not allowed to use a computer? Imagine what grade your child can achieve by solving his / her written math using the mental arithmetic he / she has learned through UCMAS.

If you know your child has a learning disability (eg attention deficit disorder or hyperactivity disorder or dyslexia or memory problem or anxiety, etc.) UCMAS can help, but to a lesser extent than other children. It is clarified that UCMAS is not a special education program.
